Julie’s Story

Site created on April 9, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. Journaling about my lung transplant journey, which began April 5, 2021. Initially I found out I had pulmonary arterial hypertension in April, 2020. I’ve been on medications and oxygen ever since. More recently I found out I have pulmonary veno occlusive disease, which requires lung transplantation. I am on the lung transplant list through Inova Fairfax hospital. I have an incredible support system. My husband, Tim, is my primary caregiver. I’m very blessed. Usually I feel well enough to do many things for myself.  Received transplant 3/7/22.  Thankfully on the healing list now.

Dear loved ones,
Shame on me for not keeping this updated. I’ve struggled, but no more than anyone else with my medical history. Because I have a tremor writing and typing are a challenge.
I’ve had trouble with anxiety, but I’m working on it. But it has been a challenge. Between anxiety and med side effects. I have a hard time motivating myself just to walk. ****However, according the docs I’m doing very well. That is what is most important.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much
