Journal entry by Amelia Dal Pra —
It is with grateful hearts that we share that Juliana moved home from rehab this week! Our parents’ home is quite a busy place with three of six children now residing at home. That’s also not including their four grandchildren under the age of eleven and the many pets who are also at the house. Juliana was welcomed home with many hugs, signs, and, most importantly, many cuddles and kisses from her sweet kitties, Izzy and Nala.
After being at the hospital for nearly twelve weeks, Juliana is grateful to be home. Shortly after her arrival, IL was hit with a snowstorm (in March)! She is enjoying curling up by the fire and reading books as she eases into living back at home with our parents and their busy household. She will soon begin physical therapy nearby and will continue traveling frequently to downtown Chicago (a 90-minute drive from my parents’ home) for appointments with her LVAD specialists, cardiologists, and hematologists.
We appreciate your continued prayers that Juliana finds comfort and calm as she adjusts to living back at home with our family. It has been a busy few months and she is still working to process all that has happened. She remains as optimistic as always.
We remain grateful for your continued love and support as Juliana continues on her healing journey.
With love,
The Dal Pra family
