Six months ago yesterday mom had her first surgery. It has been a roller coaster ride to say the least! Sometimes when you are on a roller coaster you are climbing that first hill not really knowing what is in store. You have heard about the ride and think you know what is gonna happen and what do you do when you get to the top? You raise your hands to go down that hill (at least I do) Instead of raising our hands in exhilaration on this ride we had our hands raised with the posture of surrender, trusting the Lord. There were times when we thought the ride was going to be over but no there was another turn, another spiral, another hill to climb.
Mom has graduated from at home healthcare to now going to outpatient therapies. One more step on the road to recovery! Between her primary care Dr and her endocrinologist they got her medications correct and she seems to be doing pretty well. I know there are things she gets frustrated about, things not coming as easy as they once did but that will take time. I reminded her to give herself some grace and take the wins no matter how small they may be!
