Judy’s Story

Site created on August 23, 2021

Judy and Ron Brown are two of the most amazing people you will ever meet. Judy was having some issues with her left leg that we thought was a result of a recent battle with COVID. After scans on Friday, August 20th doctors discovered that Judy has lung cancer that has metastasized to her brain. More tests are currently underway to determine the type of cancer and her team of doctors expects that they will be treating the cancer with a combination of chemotherapy, radiation and immunotherapy.

Judy's family and church family are standing on this Scripture:
Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things! The Lord’s right hand is lifted high; the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!” I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done | Psalm 118:15-17

We will be updating this page as often as we have information. Her spirits are great. Her family and church community are surrounding and supporting both she and Ron. We will keep you posted on ways you can serve and support the family as well. For now, your prayers, texts and voicemails mean more than you know.

Judy is loved by God and so many others! We are all standing and fighting with full hope in a Savior who heals.

God is so good!!!! Let me say it again so everyone hears clearly: GOD IS SO GOOD!

We are walking through this cancer journey seeing the goodness of God in every step we make. According to our last scans, the cancer in the brain has disappeared or gotten smaller and is no longer ‘active’. The cancer in the lung has also decreased in size. We are counting the miracles and praising God for each one.

I am gaining strength and endurance back day by day and am enjoying where we are in every moment. The left side weakness is almost non-existent too!

Our youngest daughter and son-in-law graciously invited us to celebrate their 40th birthdays in Hawaii in March!! When we booked the trip, I was not consistently mobile so we booked extra provision on flights, a wheelchair for the trip and wheelchair accessible hotel rooms, etc. By faith, we were going on this trip even if it took some additional work to get us there.

Well - look at God!! On our second day there, Ron and I took off down a paved pathway followed by a rocky trail to see an endangered Monk Seal that was sunning himself on a beach down from ours. When we returned from this journey and I watched a video Ron took of our walk, God softly reminded me of what He had done in our healing journey. Not only was I not in a wheelchair but I was navigating quite a distance and rocky, uneven pathways. It was surreal to think of where I was at physically only a few months before.

God is continuing to be so gracious and by my side every step of this journey. I have never felt distant from Him and His presence allows for such a peaceful journey. I will never be able to thank Him enough for all He has done for me. A good, good Father.

We continue to pray and believe for complete healing - removing cancer entirely from my blood and my body receiving the entire healing process.

Our doctors will continue to perform scans quarterly and I will continue to share of His faithfulness to my healing!!

Today, Ron and I leave for a long delayed anniversary trip to Italy! We are so blessed and so excited for this vacation.

We so appreciate your faithfulness to keep us in your prayers and stand by our side as we navigate this season. We love and care for each one of you so deeply!
