Journal entry by Jeri Austin / Swaim —
Hello all,
After one week in the ICU/hospital Joyce is finally home. She ended up having double pneumonia and spiked a fever of 105 degrees last Thursday. She was poked, prodded, x-rayed and scanned and is now home on medication and we hope she will rest and let her body heal.
Dad is doing well. He was hospitalized 2 weeks ago with Type A - Influenza. Yes, he did receive the shot but we learned that he got it too early in the season to be effective. The Flu along with his COPD left his lungs in bad shape. He came home on oxygen and inhalers but is gaining his strength back every day. He missed Mom a lot while she was in the hospital so we are hoping they will both relax and get better.
This site was set up so we can do updates (My thumb has texting waste disease - not a real thing :) We do not want anyone to donate to any site so if you get solicitations, please know they are not from us or on our behalf.
Thank you all for the prayers, well wishes and words of encouragement.
