Joyce’s Story

Site created on January 7, 2021

I have terminal cancer, found during a routine colonoscopy, and am getting chemotherapy, blood transfusions and iron transfusions. I have never been sick. I am tired and cold due to low hemoglobin and iron. I got diagnosed in  November 2020 and had a resection in December. I started chemotherapy in January 2021. I had it for 6 months and it was keeping the cancer at bay, but not shrinking it. I had genome sequencing and it determined what chemotherapy to use. Right now, things are going well but I did have a CT scan in January and there were enlarged lymph nodes in my chest and groin. I am scheduled for another CT scan on the 28th. I will also have bloodwork. I see the oncologist on the 2nd of March and if the CT scan shows anything getting bigger then I will have a PET scan. I have many, many people praying for me and a good outcome.
My CEA, or cancer marker is going up just a little but that isn't good.
Please leave it note, I need to hear from my friends.
