Newest Update

Journal entry by Tracy Beardsley Matthiessen

Sorry its been a while since I have provided an update. Burn clinic said he is healing great. Open wounds are down to just a couple of areas. Blisters pop up from time to time and they said its all part of the healing. So we just keep them covered so that can heal. As for the left are it is still not set and no surgery till the skin on the left arm is fully healed. They said about 6 months. So he is still wearing the brace to keep the movement down to a minimum. Great milestone are he can dress himself which includes 👕 👖and underwear. Also I had found a plastic covering for a arm cast at goodwill for 2.88 figuring we will need it when they cast his arm. But last night he gave it a try and was able to take a shower by himself just need me to wash the back. We sponge bathed the left arm when he was done. He was supper excited about that. Oh and he can make a complete fist with the right hand. Still alot of pt/ot and lotionings. But everyday is getting better. He is a force to be reckoned with, a fighter. I am very proud of u Josh with the way u are not letting this keep u down. Soon enough u will be out there with ur friends playing disc golf like nothing happened. Love you 😍 💗 💓 💛 ♥
