Newest Update

Journal entry by April Whedbee

Hello Family and Friends,

It's been a while since the last update and many things have happened for the Burrows Family.

First, please be praying for Josh and Natalie, and the whole family, as Josh's darling mother, Louise, went home to be with her Savior yesterday (August 2, 2023). She was 82 and one of the sweetest ladies you would ever meet. She was dearly loved and such a fighter. These last several months, and especially the last few weeks, were very hard for her. While Josh, Natalie and the family are heartbroken and deeply grieved at the loss, they are also very thankful she is no longer suffering and is with the Lord. She was so faithful to Jesus and her family for her whole life, and anyone who knew her is better for it. The link to her obituary is below:

Also, please be praying for Josh specifically during the next several days. The visitation and funeral are both on Saturday, August 5th, and Josh will have to limit his interaction with large groups because of his ongoing chemo treatments and a weakened immune system. This is hard for Josh, but also necessary as his treatment continues. Please be praying for his heart this weekend, and in the days and months ahead. Praise the Lord with Josh and Natalie that they were able to be so very present with Louise in her last few days.

Josh and Natalie officially left Florida and moved to Kentucky at the end of April, and have been settling into their new space (until they get their new little place built) and getting to know Josh's new doctors. Right now, they've living in a family space on a farm, and have really been enjoying farm life.  Josh has a wonderful new staff of doctors and a new care team in KY, and is continuing three-day chemo treatments every couple of weeks. The scans have continued to show the chemo is working (cancer shrinking), and Josh will continue that treatment as long as he can and as long as it is working. The doctor's say "keep on keeping on!" And that is exactly what Josh is doing. Some days are extremely hard and he can feel very weak and tired, but Josh is a fighter, too!

Please keep them and their family (including Jorden, Brooklyn and Xavier) in your prayers. Thank you all so much for continuing to love, support and pray for the wonderful Burrows family. God is good and kind, and He is continuing to carry them every step of the way.
