From Lori: As most of you know, it's been a whirlwind for Josh over the last 3 weeks. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and for taking the time to visit with Josh. Josh as been back in the hospital since early this week. He has a rare blood and platelet type that is complicating his treatment. He underwent several rounds of Plasmapheresis which is a process in which the liquid part of the blood, or plasma, is separated from the blood cells and the plasma is treated and then returned to his body. This was done to try to get rid of the antibodies that are attacking the platelets leaving him with very few to help fight any infections. That has not been working but thankfully his mom and his sister are a better match! Jean will be doing a donation today and we are praying the closer match will help fight those antibodies. He was also put on Rituxan. This medication slows the antiplatelet antibody production. He underwent his third round of chemotherapy on Thursday. Thankfully there have been few side effects from the chemo and those have been manageable. I save the best news for last and that is that the Leukemia is responding well to the chemotherapy! Thanks be to God! Josh continues in good spirits and appreciates your thoughts and prayers. Please share his GoFundMe page with family and friends. We are beyond grateful for any and all support!!
