My name is Judy Knapp. I am your Aunt Susan Hill’s sister. I have two sons who both attended Raytown South High School with Josh. Ryan Knapp was older than Josh. Brett Knapp was younger. My boys both knew your dad in school. Later, Josh and Ryan both worked at HyVee Grocery Store, and were often on the same shift.

The first time I met your dad he was maybe a year and a half old. He was just getting up from his nap. He was standing up in his crib, and he let me scoop him up. I remember his huge eyes and big grin. He was a cutie!

I have so many found memories of Josh from theater and in high school. The first time I went to a haunted house was when I was a freshman in high school. I rode there in Josh’s red car. I was terrified and always thought it was so cool Josh worked there a few years . So many late nights laughs at Chubby and Denny’s. Cast parties full of inside jokes I still remember and bring a smile to my face when I think of them. We did a play in high school called The Skin of Our Teeth. I wasn’t in the play but worked on costumes. Josh had several costume changes with little time to change so he wore all of the costumes in layers and I helped him take the layers off. I was just telling my girls this story the other day. In hindsight he looked like the kid who couldn’t put his arms down in A Christmas Story when the show started 😂. Helping him strip off the layers backstage was frantic and hysterical! I went to see Meatloaf with Josh at Memorial Hall. It was a great concert! I drive up and down 63rd street a lot and always look for his moms house and smile and always will as these memories flood back.

I helped with many school plays backstage and Josh always gave me a ride home after practice since I didn’t have a car of my own yet. Another great memory was doing the play, “A Streetcar Named Desire.” Josh’s character had a cigar for one of the scenes and he accidentally put it in his shirt pocket upside down and nearly burned himself! Luckily he figured it out pretty fast and was able to pull it out backstage before it caused any serious damage. :)

When Josh and I were going to school together at Blue Ridge Elementary, we played together all the time. We really loved hanging out with our friend Zach in his tree house and disposing of my old Barbie dolls with Zach's GI Joes. We were inseparable until I was sent to catholic school in first grade. But when we reunited in sixth grade the duo was back in action. Rocking out to Billy Joel mixed tapes and then theater... Taco Bell and some day I'll fill you in on why sporks were so funny!! 🥰🥰
