Journal entry by Patrice Turowski

My dear Joseph ,the love of my life for 52 years, got his wings yesterday at 3 PM.  He and I were in sacred space together for many hours  until the final transition when a  peaceful and  transcendent passage took place.  We are so blessed and grateful beyond words.

Our sons, Sage and Todd are  here and more family will be here tomorrow and Friday.  This is a tender time reminiscing on a life time of treasured memories.  Today we reflected on the last two years but mostly the last 6 to 8 months.  We had such a realization  that these many months have  actually been one huge event, an ongoing "Celebration of Life" for Joseph.  And he was here to enjoy it all!!!  We couldn't have planned it better.

We feel fortunate to have found a local organization called Full Circle Living and Dying Collective.   Their  passion is to encourage conversation and help families co-create an end-of-life plan of care and home funerals.  They have trained Death Doulas or midwives.  We have three lovely caring  women on our team.  I feel grateful for their guidance.    All of us together gently cared for this sweet man by bathing him with essential oils dressing him and now he is "Laying in Honor" in our home for three days.  We cherish this experience.

Your continued and generous support and the immense out-pouring of Love has been and continues to be truly remarkable.  We thank you from our deepest hearts for this Gift!  Joseph and I and our family have felt so well loved and are  filled to overflowing with deep peace and thankfulness.

We plan to do a burial at sea at a later time.
