Hello Family-

May 26th 2023 was my one year anniversary of my Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) or Stem Cell Transplant. I had my 19th bone marrow biopsy surgery and Baruch HaShem... no cancer! This is a great milestone. The first 2 years are watchful times for patients like me, but I am celebrating this big win and enjoying being healthy. I feel good. I have more energy, take less naps, walk around the lake and do yoga. I still take meds and have one more round of vaccinations (next month) but I am so grateful everyday to be alive.
In honor of my one year re-birthday WCCO Radio did it's first ever Live Radio Auction. We collected 'experiences' and auctioned them off for 12 hours on the air. We raised $80,000 for Be The Match (transplant matching org)! I am so grateful to WCCO Radio and all the volunteers that helped. It was really fun on the air and the money will go to help other transplant patients. I hope we do it every year.
Let me catch you up...
Marley is home from Madison and I'm thrilled. She has an internship with a shoe company locally, Marion Parke, and is learning a lot and really liking it. It's been so fun to have all 3 kids together.
That will end soon as Maddox leaves Monday to be an Ozo at Herzl Camp. Ozo is like a counselor in training and he is about to have the best summer ever! I will miss him like crazy as we've been walking around the lake together almost every day and having great talks.
Ruby (I'm not sure she still lives in my house) is about to be 16 and is very busy with friends. It's all good and that's exactly what she should be doing. She leaves for Israel soon, she'll be gone a month but it'll be amazing and she is excited.
I cherish the nights we are all together and we are planing a family trip back to NJ to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday in August. BH.
Marc continues to be my angel, best caregiver, best husband and partner in the universe. He is the glue to our Shabbos's (which you can join us for on insta @jordanaverde).
I'm so happy to write such a positive update. For those that have been on the journey with me thank you.
As you know I don't sugar coat, so nothing is ever perfect. To the other cancer warriors fighting before me, with me and after me please know I have been forever changed by this fight. I will never be 'normal' again and I battle the after effects of the transplant and so much chemo all the time. I have pain, nausea, fatigue, major brain fog, etc... but being alive is the prize. I am focused on the positive every day and thankfully G-d made it easy for me, I have so much good around me, including you.

Stay well, happy, & peaceful. I love you.
