I suggest strongly that John get an MRI of the prostrate before he gets a typical biopsy of 12 samples. If the MRI shows nothing he may not need the biopsy. If the MRI shows something it may indicate exactly where the biopsy samples should be taken rather than randomly. I used my MRI when we did a fusion biopsy where the MRI result is used to target certain areas. If he has any questions please tell him to call.
