Journal entry by Abe Ashton

It’s been 1 year since Jon’s accident. I am pleased to report that Jon continues to improve. There have been so many well wishes and wonderful memories of Dr. Camp, Bishop Camp and “Jon” on this page.

While the family has been busily dedicated to serving Jon and seeing him through this difficult recovery I know they have been grateful for the support, prayers and well wishes on their behalf even if they have not been able to respond or communicate their gratitude.

Looking back over the last year and remembering vividly the sight of Jon in that hospital bed in a coma 12 months ago today is proof to me that miracles and blessings exist.  I recently enjoyed watching him have a great conversation with his oldest two grandsons as they were preparing to depart for another semester of college.
If you were a watching that conversation you would not have known that you were listening to someone who had a TBI within the last 12 months.

This year has been filled with with hundreds of hours of various therapies and countless doctors visits.  After all of Jon’s effort and hard work he is now very self sufficient and even recently got back on his bike. HE IS BACK ON HIS BIKE!  His neurologist thought this would be a definite possibility and that his recovery would not be limited if he pushed and worked hard. And... he did!

He continues to improve and progress.  He still has limitless potential. We have faith and believe in him because, like you, we know that Jon Camp is limitless!
