Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Jonathan . We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. In September, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma stage 4. We appreciate your prayers, love, support and words of encouragement as our family goes through this time together. Thank you for visiting.
A Bible verse we’ve been reminded of and thinking of daily is one that helped us through a tough pregnancy with Jonathan. Believing this is a verse meant for him. It’s a beautiful verse. John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world!
Jonathan had treatment # 4 out of 12 yesterday 11/20. He has a cold and they were really hesitant to move forward and discussed delaying treatment. They listened to his lungs and checked him over thoroughly and decided to move forward. We were glad they did not delay it. Hopefully the cold will clear up soon, it’s crazy how something as small as a cold is a big thing when you’re walking through cancer and chemotherapy. Prayers he does ok this upcoming week. Side effects usually hit him Monday- Thursday of the week following. He continues to be so strong. Every day when we leave he tells me the count down. 4 down, 8 more to go. The doctor told us he’d be having his PET scan the first week of December. Please pray with us for positive results, that’ll it show the chemo is working.
While this is not an easy road we are trying to stay positive and hold strong to our faith. Some days are just hard, but some days are not as hard. We will keep looking up and working as a family to move forward.
We decided pretty last minute that a change of scenery would be nice. Sometimes just to feel like you’re escaping is a nice feeling. We know we can’t escape but to be away to try and not dwell on what’s going on is nice. We’re on an adventure, we are camping in a small cabin at the beach. Jonathan really enjoys fishing so he’s getting to do a little of that and the beach alone is the most peaceful place to me. It’s a beautiful place to reflect on our many blessings and a great place to let our minds rest. A quick weekend getaway will hopefully be good for our hearts and minds. We are cherishing every moment and just being. It’s been hard to just “be” lately. Thank you God for a couple of days to soak up some needed peace. And to just breathe!
We want to make sure you all know that we are so grateful for all of the love and support! The messages, cards, gift cards, goody baskets, meals and everything else!! Everything has been so kind and thoughtful! We feel the prayers too and believe in healing for Jonathan.
We love you all and appreciate you all being on this
journey with us.
Happy Thanksgiving to each of you. Count your many blessings! ❤️🙏🦃
