Jonathan’s Story

Site created on July 1, 2018

On June 27th, 2018, Jonathan was in a severe car accident that left him in critical condition and in a coma. He has suffered a traumatic brain injury and has bleeding in his frontal lobe and brain stem. As of now, the extent of the damage to Jonathan's brain is unknown. The doctors do not have very many answers and only time will tell what the outcome will be. We will continue to update this site with any information in order to keep family and friends informed of Jonathan's condition. Our family asks for your prayers during this excruciating time.

Journal entry by Abby Ristow

Saw Jonah again today and he was more alert and awake than yesterday.  Seems to be trying to communicate with his eyes. He will blink when you tell him something or ask a question.  When we first got there the nurse was trying to get him to move his fingers and toes but said he wasn't doing it.  I was holding his left hand talking to him and he gripped my hand. I asked him to wiggle his fingers and he started to.  He seems to be getting very good at moving his thumb although it takes a minute or so for him to initially do it after you ask, but then if you ask again he does it immediately.  Seems to be making progress. Continuing to pray for him.
