Jonathan’s Story

Site created on February 27, 2018

On Sunday, February 25 our beautiful friend Jonathan Burton suffered an incident nobody could ever predict.

His wife, Kelly, found Jonathan on the garage floor after returning from a flight. Kelly called 911 and neighbors Lisa and Brian Eyre to help. The medics arrived within five minutes and stabilized him before transporting him to Tacoma General Hospital. Jonathan’s scan revealed that he had suffered an aneurysm and had bleeding on the brain.  Later than night, Jonathan was given a coiling treatment to prevent blood flow from entering the aneurysm. Jonathan remains in ICU.

This CaringBridge site was created to keep you connected with the Burton family, to provide some relief for communicating to so many people and to provide a way for you to send your love to the family. Your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated and needed.

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Kelly Burton

Friends and family,

Just a reminder, as there seems to still be some confusion as to Jonathan’s Celebration of Life. It is Sunday, April 15th, 6pm, at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. Doors open at 5:30pm. Parking is free, plan to arrive early. Light refreshments will be served following the service and there will be a no-host bar for wine and beer.

More details (address, etc) can be found below in these journal entries.

Again, pilots and flight attendants are encouraged to dress in uniform. However, with alcohol being served you may want to be in “civilian” dress.

Thank you for the cards, gifts, and prayers ❤️
