Journal entry by Maira Ibarra —
Johny's third round of chemotherapy is done and we wait again. I feel like this round definitely drained some of his energy but he's coming around to his old crazy self. The days seem a bit longer this time too and we are making the best of them. The doctors said Johny is still doing amazing and no cancer cells were found in his bone marrow or his spine as of the last round! So Johny is technically in remission! He still has to complete the treatment to make sure the cancer is gone and it stays gone!! He is one of the strongest and bravest kids I know. Throughout all of this he has remained sweet to every person he crosses, even on his "bad" days he still spiderman poses in the hallways for the nurses. It's safe to say he loves the attention he gets. As a mom/parent you always hope for healthy children but when illness does happen to your child you hope for the best possible outcome and that your child gets better. In our case, we are so lucky and blessed to say he will be okay and he is going to be 100% better. Now, we just have to push through the rest of treatment, continue taking things day by day, and hope the cancer never comes back!
