John’s Story

Site created on October 18, 2020

John Vereb is known and loved by many.  His circle of family, friends, and colleagues is vast, so I am thankful to have this platform to share information and updates.  We are sincerely thankful for everyone’s continued prayers and support.

John tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020.  He tried to fight off fever, chills, and coughing all week before going to the ER on Friday, Oct. 16 for a chest X-ray.  He was admitted to the hospital and started on a course of treatment.  His condition deteriorated and he was intubated on Sunday, Oct. 18 - just one week later.  He is currently on a ventilator at Robley Rex VA Medical Center receiving excellent care.  Many thanks to his incredible care team!

I know people have been anxiously waiting for details of John’s funeral arrangements. A link is posted below with details.  It has been difficult trying to describe the tremendous impact he made professionally and how he touched our lives personally.  John was such a special and unique person.

I have been overwhelmed with such kind messages And expressions of support.  Please  forgive me for being slow to respond to them all.  We truly appreciate each and every one.
