Journal entry by Diane Leslie —
Good news: John will be released this afternoon!!
His trach was removed, and the hole should close up in about 3 days. Last night the Dobhoff (NG tube) was removed. He still needs to thicken liquids, but otherwise is doing fine eating and drinking. I had a brief Video chat with him yesterday, and he looks and sounds good 😊
In fact, the hospital doesn't see a need for even short term/rehab care. So Jim and Carolyn will be instructed in wound care, and John will stay will them in their home for now. Starting Monday, he will have some follow-up with Home Health.
We are SO thankful for John's progress, and all of your prayers! Please continue to pray as he recovers and transitions into a "new normal" lifestyle. (Also keep Cheryl in prayer as well, she had another seizure yesterday.) Sabbath Blessings to all!
