I keep re-reading the announcement of his passing, but it just doesn’t sink in. I still can’t believe he’s gone. It always was a pleasure to be around John and Cheri, and witness the obvious love and devotion and admiration they had for each other.
My husband met John decades ago, in a business capacity, and they became friends. I first met John and Cheri 14 years ago, a few days after my mother died. I wasn’t up for meeting new people at that time, but my husband assured me I’d like them and feel comfortable with them. He was absolutely right. They were so warm and welcoming (and funny!) By the end of the evening, I felt like I’d known them for years. My husband and I are going to miss him, so much.
