11/19/21 - This morning we met with the medical oncologist to discuss the option of chemotherapy. Prior to this appointment, radiation seemed like the better option for John’s situation. Unfortunately, the CT scan of John’s lungs did pick up two small nodules in his lungs. The doctor today did say that he is 90% sure the nodules are not troublesome, but he can’t say that with 100% certainty. Now that there is a very slight possibility of his lungs being effected, chemotherapy now may be the better option, but chemotherapy is a lot more harsh on the body. We are going to consult again with the radiation oncologist and a couple of other doctor’s who are family friends for advice/information. The good news, both radiation and chemo are great options no matter what we pick. We are unfortunately still waiting, but we are a step closer to making a decision and starting treatment. ❤️
