John’s Story

Site created on November 16, 2017

On November 10, 2017, John went to the ER after suffering most of the week with intractable indigestion.  He was admitted and tested. Results showed that John has a tumor called cholangiocarcinoma. It is a tumor in the common bile duct. We are very grateful it is not in his liver. It is cancerous. We would like to keep you updated on this journey as we learn, investigate and concur, with God's guidance and with His healing powers, this cancer in John's body. Thank you for all your texts, emails, calls and love. We feel it. We are at the peak of research, scheduling appointments and navigating these waters. Today, and everyday going forward, we are believing,"This is what the Lord says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I WILL HEAL YOU" (2 Kings 20:5). God will be glorified!

God is good...all the time. In Him we trust!  Love, Susan and John

Newest Update

Journal entry by Susan Kettelle

I wanted to give a “little” update:

So yesterday day was interesting!!!!

I drove myself to the Paoli ER at 7 am after Sunday and Sunday night of having relentless back pain and stomachaches!!

Turned out, my gallbladder was very angry living in my body, so due to its attitude it was evicted and the surgeon made it take its multiple stones that were growing in it out too!!😆

Seriously, I now feel like a new woman! The 4 incisions today are sore, but man oh man, I feel so much better over all!

The surgeon came in this morning and said I did great and he was very glad that I came to Paoli when I did and had it removed. The surgeon said he had to make an incision larger that usual because it was so inflamed and so many stones!! I cannot believe how it came on so fast and was that bad!!! Honestly, it was hard to decide to come with all the memories tied here, but humbly may I say that I did great emotionally. I only cried in the ER a few times, mostly from pain, but memories were included. Once again the nurses and docs were amazing.

I’m currently on more IV antibiotics today and being sent home with 3 days worth.

I’m going home  late afternoon today. Sara is a nurse here at Paoli so she’s my ride. ❤️ Playschool is taking great care of me, so I’m very blessed....plus as I said, I feel sooooo much better!

You don’t know how bad you feel until you’re feeling good 😃

My motto this week: "Be still, and know that I am God;...”

Psalm 46:10a

Much love,

Susan
