Newest Update

Journal entry by Tracy Hein

Well, it's been a while since I've posted an update. I thought today was a good day to do that as we have so much to be thankful for this year!

John is getting stronger everyday, still has a long ways to go, but getting much better. Issues with low blood pressure, which limit some of his therapy some days and moving around on his own.  He does not see the progress like we do, he is ready to be out and about on his own.

Biggest highlight so far has been him using the walker, for short distances, but he walked into therapy yesterday, he walked into coffee this morning!, and walked into Garrison for supper Tuesday.  It takes a lot out of him, but getting a little easier every time! This morning wore him out, he had to take a nap when we got home.

He is still doing therapy 4 days a week, which will probably continue for some time. Still has a cough and spot on his lung, at this time they're not concerned, we don't go back for 5 more months for a checkup. They believe it is some scar tissue, but they want to watch it. His hoarseness and cough they feel is from the ventilator and trach, hopefully we'll get better over time. If not, we will do some therapy for that as well, we'll see how it is in a couple weeks.

Again, very thankful and blessed for a lot of things this year. Especially our family and friends!

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and a wonderful holiday weekend!

Love John Tracy Wiley and Shelby
