Journal entry by Jacqui Hawkins —
So now John is positive for Covid! (I'm negative). I have a feeling he got it in the ER - but it could have been the racetrack, even though we literally stayed away from everyone and we always wear a mask...he's ok, so far. Low grade fevers, some nausea/vomiting at night, a slight cough and a loss of taste for some foods. Though he did thoroughly enjoy the small piece of ribeye that I practically shredded for him tonight! He's lost 15 lbs since 9/16. He'll get the monoclonal antibody therapy IF HE ANSWERS THE PHONE WHEN THEY CALL!!!
Honestly though, he has been staying in our bedroom and I've got the rest of the house, but it's lonely to be in the house with someone and not be able to be close to them. I make him leave the bedroom door open so I can hear him if he needs me, but I've got the windows open and fans strategically placed to move the air out the window closest to him. He peeked his head out awhile ago to tell me that he missed his wife....awwww! He's getting a huge, wet kiss when he's negative! The guest room is pretty comfortable, but I like sleeping with my husband...we kinda fit together, I guess. The dogs have deserted me for him too. Oh well...
Pray we get through this without me getting sick and without him suffering from long haulers AND cancer.
