My heart aches deeply at your sorrow. Your pain reminds me of a howling coyote. Or our quail who lost his love and would cry out for her each mating season for years. In each case, we could only stand by and pray for them and you to find peace.
This will take a while. Don’t rush it!!
It’s not over — the support from friends. We’re still here for You, John.
Anything we can do to help. Anything.
With tears, too.
Love,
Anne

Thank you for sharing John O'Donohue's piece again. It is beautiful and stirring, even for those of us who have not had a recent loss.

That’s amazing. As you advised I will read it more than once. Such Beautiful imagery.
It’s been a while since I’ve lost someone but I’ve never lost a spouse. I could only ask my Mom for what you might be going through.

I’m so glad you wrote. I’ve been praying for you.

A light will be lit for Maureen in the Tree of Lights by Hospice of the East Bay in Moraga. Her name will be read at the ceremony. If you go, Bring a coat. It’s usually very cold. It’s my Mom’s and gift for you this challenging season.
Love and continued prayers.

This is a beautiful description of grief. I hope you are allowing yourself to feel however you feel -- it's a bit of a roller coaster.

You are not alone on this journey, John. Maureen stands next to you and always will. The love you two had for each other cannot be broken....not even by death. Take your time and grieve, reminisce, laugh, cry and let her help you. Love and prayers to you and the family. I know this holiday will be a tough one and I'll be thinking of all of you.
Love, Lorraine
