John’s Story

Site created on August 1, 2021

This website/app will provide a place where we can provide everyone with updates on dad's recovery journey as he battles the massive insult to his brain, in the form of the sinister subarchnoid hameorrage (SAH), that first landed him in hospital on the 18 July 2021.
I was using group messages initially but found that due to the high number of people in the group, some of the messages weren't getting through to everyone, including John and Paul. This should prevent this breakdown in communicationand allow for other family members and friends to get these updates at the same time and make comments or ask questions.

Journal entry by Jennifer Neagle

Mum and I saw Dad yesterday. He was a bit more lucid and seemed to recognise mum and I, so although he was very tired and he actually seemed better.
Hoping this improvement is because the drain is working properly again meaning we may see more improvements this week.
Mum and I left the hospital quite cheery with this small improvement.  We will chat with doctors today about their plans for dad this week.
