Julie, this is so lovely and a wonderful Thanksgiving message. I'm grateful for your friendship and openness and example of how to find beauty and love everywhere even in painful times. Thank you for being you. Let the tears and music flow as needed. Love you, Kathy
Thank you Julie. You’ve made us feel even closer and ever more thankful, and help us see how to gracefully face loss. Love to you and the family. Alice & Tom 😘
An adaptation of Mother Teresa's many thoughtful reflections: Johns kind words and your thoughtful reflections are with us, and their echos are truly endless. With love and healing and thankfulness. Warmest regards and hugs ~ Carol
Thank you so much for sharing and putting into words what we all are feeling. You are so brave. I've been thinking about you all so much, and so begins the year of firsts.....
I loved the James Taylor/Garth Brooks song and the Carrie Newcomer one as well. Please give everyone a hug from me, for you
Love, Sue
Julie, this has been a wonderful way for all of us to keep in touch with you and John. And yes, it's a sign of moving on that this will likely be your last post -- although not, I hope, the last of sharing your very moving writing. I remember clearly in the year after Jerry died the first moment I was again able to experience joy. Arlo in that skunk suit might well have been such a moment for you. He makes a splendid skunk, and his Grandpa would be smiling at the sight. I'm sure life is full on this Thanksgiving day, full of all sorts of feelings, memories, hopes for the future, joy in the playing of Christmas music, and still a lot of sorting over what the last four years have meant. The river of life goes only forward, and you carry with you all that you, and you and John, have been. How thankful I am for that. Blessings to you and your family on this day. Love, Pam
Julie, how lovely to hear from you on this day devoted to gratitude. Of course that should be everyday but special on this day. I started my day at an open AA gratitude meeting with my nephew who has been abstinent for over 12 years -much gratitude for the program and his life. Also I’m particularly for my health and very blessed life. I turned 80 earlier this month and am grateful for every day. As I begin the November-December of my life I’m so blessed by love. I’ll spend this holiday with my son, four of my seven grandchildren and both nephews.
Thanks for your sharing, of your tears and courage to begin your new life., and for sending your love and caring to those who love you. May your Thanksgiving be a blessed day full with love, fun, gratitude and early Christmas music. Much love, Rachael

Just beautiful my friend. You've been on my mind all day. I know all these "firsts" are so hard. You were blessed with a love that so many never get to experience. I hope/know those memories give you the greatest comfort. Enjoy your family day, and give that adorable little skunk a hug from me! Love you much!
