Dear Julie - It is New Year's Day, 2021, and as I diligently clean out old emails I came across your Caring Bridge update from August 2018. What a lovely post; you are certainly a gifted writer. I had the pleasure of working with John at WSU in Pullman. It did not take long to notice that John was different from others. Caring and a good listener, he was always there for us. One day as we chatted outside the IT Bldg., John smiled and said, "Julie and I are celebrating our 40th Anniversary. Isn't that incredible? We've been together for 40 years." As he continued to smile I could see the love for you on his face. It was a beautiful moment that I wanted to share with you. To this day, every time I drive by the WSU Foundation bldg. in Pullman, I say a little prayer for you and your family, and picture John's smile of love for you. Sincerely, Barb Olson

Was just thinking of you, so not surprised to receive this.
Grief is a strange process with no particular pattern. We'll get together soon and just have some fun. Maybe in Silverdale for lunch. You wrote a beautiful sharing,

Dearest Julie......I think of you daily and although I haven't posted after every entry from John and you, I have read every word and and carry them in my heart as I continue to care for Earl in the trials of Parkinson's. Your whole family is such an inspiration to us on our journey through this disease. Although it will be impossible for me to come to Kansas, our prayers and thoughts will be with you and your family. John was a remarkable kind man and we will cherish the times we spent with your family in Missouri. We love you!
