Newest Update

Journal entry by Jill Ostaszewski

Here we are all gathered at Brigham and Women's Hospital, the surgical venue for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Beautiful hospital with a fabulous staff. Thank you to the whole surgical team, especially Dr. Kass, the head and neck surgeon (who even asked for a bracelet). He said he never saw such a big group in the waiting room.

John went in at 8am and surgery finished around 12:30 PM.

Tumor was removed via a small c-shaped incision near his eye. Great news is his eye was saved. The team feels optimistic that he may not even need radiation. Update to follow.

In other news, Hanna took the opportunity to donate blood while we waited.
