Sad day for all of us.. I know that a few typed words of consolation might never be sufficient to overcome the grief and the loss. Praying God gives you and family strength to overcome this loss and rebuild life.

Dear Susan I don't know you but I know your courage, your strength and your bravery and recognise your true love for your husband . I feel your pain and I know you have a hard hard journey ahead of you . I cried when I read this and my heart goes out to you . There is a big John shaped hole in your heart and a numbness and a loss, there is anger and hate and a terrible pain . We are here for you . Across the miles across countries and continents we are here. The cycling community is a big family who will take you to their hearts and give you strength in the coming weeks . Reach out to us for although your journey is different and just beginning we grieve with you . I lost my son in the Indian Pacific Wheel Race last year, he was Mike Hall and he was in the inaugural Transam and in the Inspired to Ride documentary. No words can take away your pain , no platitudes such as He died doing what he loved, can help you understand why Only know there are thousands around the world who care for you and when the time is right reach out to them . My feeling is grief is only so immense when we love someone so very dearly, it is the price we pay for the great love we have . Sending you strength and hugs from the United Kingdom and am always here if you want to scream and cry and rant . Bless you and your family. pathhall@hotmail.com Pat Hallxxxx

Susan and family, I am so deeply sorry for all of this and for John’s passing. He is loved by so many. My husband, Chris, worked with John at Revolution and we always loved coming in to say hi and seeing John’s smiling face welcoming us. He always said to my son, “Hey Ollie!” (Oliver) and was always so friendly. He is loved and missed tremendously. We are sending all our love to you.

I had just heard about John at a local bike shop right before he departed for the TABR. The two people I was talking with had such positive things to say about him. I was so looking forward to meeting him on his return. The TABR is a life changing event, but it should never take a life, not one as wonderful as John's. My prayers go out to all that know him and all the riders that will follow in his path.
