I am not certain but I believe that John may have passed away within the last few days.
I know that you are inundated with things to do, but could you please let us know. Many of us are not on Facebook. A friend of mine took a look but couldn't find anything saying that he has passed.

Even though this seemed to be inevitable -- and I know being muted and immobile is absolutely not how John would have wished to be remembered -- I am still just totally gutted. It's as though a follow-spot just winked out and the dark and quiet are overwhelming.
Peace and love to Sean and the rest of John's biologic and extended family. There are many of us out here who were truly blessed by John's love and friendship. We mourn the big hole left in our hearts by his passing, but rejoice that we were able to call him "friend."
From Sean earlier today: "It is with a heavy heart that I have to share with you some awful news. John Butz has passed away. I'll share more later, but for now I am just broken."
John, we continue to hold you in our thoughts, with prayers and love. Having you in the world has always been a source of comfort and joy to us and your very many friends and whose lives your ebullient good nature, zest for life, and talent have touched. Everyone needs a John Butz in their lives, and we are truly lucky to have you in ours. God bless.
Knowing John was one of the high points of my life. I had not thought about being involved in theater until John invited my Evan in and I was welcomed as well.
