Just last week I looked out the window of a restaurant and “saw John.” Without thinking, I looked up expecting him to come in. Then realized it wouldn’t be John. Then thought of Jan and how hard this is. I wish you many little joys, Jan. May they pop into your life with frequency.

Wonderful obituary.
I wish we’d gotten to know him better while he lived on Cal Young Rd.
Fine man of diverse interests and talents and deeply committed to the medical profession, his community, his beautiful wife and family, friends and the world.

What a special event it was last night. As family and friends walked through the orchard and gathered by the river behind your house, our hearts were touched. It was the most perfect goodbye we have ever experienced. John was loving it as stories and food were shared and his beautiful wife made it obvious to all why he had been drawn to such a special lady. We knew parking would be an issue as many loved John, so we bicycled the 14 miles to and fro. It was invigorating as it was a beautiful night. We arrived home as the sun was setting ... smiling because we knew John was loving the event. Sorry we missed seeing Jordyn. Give her our love. We continue to be impressed by Chris, his dedication to his family and his heartfelt stories. Tell him to be sure and change the batteries in the fireplace. Ha. We love your family and look forward to many wonderful times ahead with John cheering us on from afar.

Dear Jan, I still find it hard to believe that Dr Mackey is gone from this earth. He was always available for us and such a good, calm and loving spirit; such a wise man. I know that you must miss him terribly, I do and he's your soulmate and forever love.
I continue to uphold you and your family in prayer.
I am incredibly grateful that I had the blessing of knowing him and working for him
Hugs to you , Carol Snider
