We are absolutely heartbroken to hear this news. We will continue daily rosaries for miraculous healing and Jesus’ will to be done as well as grace, love and peace to be poured out in abundance on all the Ahern family. Thank you for allowing us to walk on this journey with you. Witnessing your sacred suffering has been a beautiful gift that you have given to the entire STM community. We will never forget your perfect example of strength in your weakness and are so grateful for it.

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Jesus declared, "Those who believe in me will have life even if they die" (John 11:25). Jesus' followers can celebrate even in the midst of grief and mourning over the loss of friends and loved ones. Jesus has promised eternal life to believers, free from all tears, sorrow, and pain [Rev. 21:4). That is why, when it comes to death, Christians are a people of hope.
