Journal entry by Michael Coyle —
Yesterday was Johanna's last chemotherapy infusion! Everything went very well. Her favorite nurse, Pen Pen, was there to kick off the treatment. At the end of the treatment, Johanna's PICC line was removed, so no more limitations on walking Ozzie or lifting items that weight greater than 10 lbs. (As you can imagine, she was no fan of these restrictions.)
It's been 10 months since the beginning of our journey. To date, there have been three surgeries and a combined 23 days in the hospital. It's amazing to think about everything we've been through. We are so happy to put this chapter behind us. Thank you to all who have supported us along the way with Facebook posts, cards, calls, prayers, meals and love. And especially today we are grateful to the docs & nurses at the John Muir Cancer Institute. See below for pics of Johanna (and one of Ozzie & Macey because why not?) the morning before her first chemotherapy infusion and the morning before her last. Stay tuned for more updates!
