Jo’s Story

Site created on December 15, 2020

For the last 3 years I have had difficulty breathing.  After many doctors’ visits, I was diagnosis with Pulmonary Fibrosis.  They don't know where it came from so they classified it as non-specific interstitial pneumonitis.  We were working with the University of Arizona- Banner Research Hospital.  After many visits and tests, they said they needed to do a biopsy of lungs.  During the procedure, I had a bleed out resulting in a long recuperation time.  After visiting with cardiologists, pulmonary specialists, we decided to go to Mayo in Phoenix.

During our many discussions at Mayo, it was determined that I need a lung transplant.  Because Mayo does not do this type of surgery Mayo sent me to St. Joseph Hospital in Phoenix, which is known for their organ transplants. I have been assigned a team of 12 individuals that will stay with me the entire time.  During the weeks of January 11-29th  I am scheduled for many tests and counseling sessions  to confirm that I am physically and mentally fit to do a double lung transplant.

Please check this website for updates as I undergo this process.  I am seeking many prayers and feel free to respond.
