Journal entry by Susan Vik

I all ways knew I would die young. My family convinced me to see a doctor after they noticed I was turning yellow and swelling up my drinking caused me to go into liver failure. I have since stopped drinking and my liver enzymes have gone back to a normal level so thought I was good Doctor requested that we do a CAT scan every 6 months to monitor my healing . My last scan also picked up a lesion on my spine with further testing it was found to be metastasized bone cancer and it was found to be from the lung. Too far advanced to cure and limited treatment because of liver and all the treatment would do is make me more tired and sick not worth it for me I would prefer to be awake  and enjoy my family while I can. I was told I may have as much as 2 years or as little as 6 months I am trying for my 40th wedding anniversary in May of 2020. Right now I feel good and I am continuing to not drink and stay on my current meds maybe I can give my grandkids some more good memories.
