Joe and Sue, you certainly have had a number of bad holidays but am grateful you beat the rush!! I'm sure all the waiting gets old and you now have the patience of Job. We pray the antibiotics are kicking out your pneumonia and cold and that you will both get some well-needed rest. So very glad there is only one more treatment to go! Have you read the book Ordinary Grace? I am guessing Sue has since she really likes the author William Kent Krueger. I found some wonderful quotes in that book that really moved me. I hope they help you too. Ordinary Grace pages:

P 194 When we feel abandoned, alone, and lost, what’s left to us? What do I have, what do you have, what do any of us have left except the overpowering temptation to rail against God and to blame him for the dark night into which he’s led us, to blame him for our misery, to blame him and cry out against him for not caring? What’s left to us when that which we love most has been taken?

I will tell you what’s left, three profound blessings. In his first letter to the Corinthians, Saint Paul tells us exactly what they are: faith, hope, and love. These gifts which are the foundation of eternity, God has given to us and he’s given us complete control over them. Even in the darkest night it’s still within our power to hold to faith. “Jesus suffered the dark night and death and on the third day he rose again through the grace of his loving father. For each of us, the sun sets and the sun also rises and through the grace of our Lord we can endure our own dark night and rise to the dawning of a new day and rejoice.

“I invite you, my brothers and sisters, to rejoice with me in the divine grace of the Lord and in the beauty of this morning , which he has given us.”

P. 289 There was a playwright, Son, a Greek by the name of Aeschylus. He wrote that he who learns must suffer. And even in our sleep pain, which cannot forget, falls drop by drop upon the heart, until, in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God.

Love to all of you! Joe I am sorry you are not feeling well. We had a cold/ cough and it felt like every time we even tried to lie down the coughing would start. Finally slept propped up using 3 pillows. Hope this bug goes away soon. Much love! Lynn and Harry

Thank you for sharing and keeping us updated. We continue to pray for you and send positive/healing thoughts for recovery. Laughter is, indeed, good medicine - even if only hearing it. Hopefully everyone will be laughing together again, soon.
