Journal

This post is a little long but I feel led to write it and I pray it blesses you.

It’s been almost a month since Dad met his Savior.  My family is humbled by the love, support and contributions made to charities in honor of him, specifically to Caring Bridge.

Everyone reading this has suffered and most likely will suffer again on this side of Heaven. I want to share a very special moment that happened this past weekend in an attempt to bring you hope and show you how God wants to comfort you.

Last Friday I was listening to a sermon on Joseph and the speaker made the statement that “believers experience God given dreams just like Joseph did and that is one of the ways He communicates to us”.

Sunday morning Mom told me that she  had  just had a dream that she was with Dad.  His hair was brown and he was healthy. He reached out and grabbed her hand and she felt it was as warm.

When she told me about the dream I felt a chill go through my body like a lighting bolt and I was convicted that she had a “God given dream”.  It was no coincidence that I heard the Joseph sermon one day before she had the dream.  As my friend Maria said, “this dream was a gift from God”!!!  He was communicating to us that Dad’s body IS healed and his spirit IS alive!

In that moment I felt the veil of grief began to lift and the peace I have felt since then can only be explained by the fact that my Jesus is wrapping me in His comforting arms.

As a tribute to Dad I have posted a song below that I encourage you to listen to all the way through.  The best part is at the end.

I posted the version where you can read the lyrics because they are undeniably the most authentic to the Biblical Jesus that I have ever heard. I fell in love with Him all over again after hearing this song.

My Dad and I were more alike than any person I have ever known.  We had so many conversations that would end by one of saying, “and I know you can sympathize because you’re just like me”.

I so badly wish he could have heard this song before he died because I think he would say, “Sissy, this is our love song to Jesus”.

Much love and blessings to you!

Allison
