If you could see Joe now, what a long way he has come in six weeks since that fateful day in the back yard. Joe and I took a trip to see Dr Choi, his Neuro Surgeon today for his six week follow up. Earlier this week on Monday we went to see his hand surgeon Dr. LeTourneau. He is getting some good news from these doctors from all of the hard work he has been putting in. But...wait for it... the best news Joe could possible get, he got today from Dr. Choi...he can ride his motorcycle at the three month point following his surgery. He has another appointment August 1st to confirm this with Dr. Choi but what great news for Joe. I am a little concerned about it but a surgeon wouldn't give him the go ahead if he didn't think he could safely ride, right?

In addition, Joe can start going back to the gym, which he was doing every day faithfully before his accident. I know we will start seeing some sunshine around here now, not just outside but also with Joe and his good news.

Thanks for all of your prayers, I know his hard work was not all that it took to get here. Joe is very grateful for all of his friends and family who have been sending good wishes and praying. He knows that our lives could have taken a different turn with this accident and that makes us both grateful for what we have, including all of you.

I am not sure if I will be posting out here again. It appears we have made it past the worst of things and are on our way to enjoying retirement again. Joe has gotten great care at the Trauma Center at Regions and all of the doctors, surgeons and nurses that have been involved with his care. If, God forbid, you would need a trauma unit, tell them to take you to Regions. (PS I am not being paid to say this). Thanks again everyone.
