It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Joseph William Cain of Dawsonville, Georgia on November 4, 2022. Joe passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family after a two year battle with ALS.
Joe was born in 1966 in Sumter, South Carolina to Martha and Richard Cain. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and after graduation, he used this degree to pursue a career at Control Southern. There, he enjoyed a long career and developed many life long friendships.
Joe’s laughter and smile were infectious. He brightened the lives of everyone who was blessed enough to know him. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and family time. While he loved travel and adventuring, he also appreciated peacefulness and enjoyed observing nature at his beautiful lake home that he shared with his wife, Alisa Cain.
Joe is preceded in death by his father Richard Cain and his first wife Jayne Cain. He is survived by his mother Martha Cain, his wife Alisa Cain, his son Jordan Cain and his wife Macey Cain, his daughter Allie Riley and her husband Josh Riley, his bonus daughter Kimber Lawson and her partner Phil Bushee, his bonus daughter Kaleigh Petree and her husband Jake Petree, his two beautiful grandchildren Ford Riley and Isabella Bushee, his brother Rick Cain and his wife Nan Cain, his brother Bob Cain and his wife Cathy Cain, and numerous in laws, nieces, nephews, and close friends that he considered family.
Memorial services will be held at McDonald and Sons Funeral Home in Cumming Georgia on Friday, November 11, 2022. Visitation will begin at 11am, followed by a memorial service. The reception will be held at NoFo Brewing in Dawsonville, Georgia from 2pm - 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joe’s name to the ALS Association. Donations can be made online at alsaga.org or mailed to ALSA Georgia Chapter 5881 Glenridge Dr Suite 200 Atlanta GA 30328.
