Journal entry by Jodi Symms

Hello friends and family. For those of you who don’t know, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in mid-july after having a total hysterectomy.  She had been noticing changes in her body which led her to undergo this procedure.  The surgery turned out to be a blessing because she likely would not have found the cancer without her amazing doctor, Lee Parsons.  My mom previously battled breast cancer in 2014 and we thought this would be her 6th year clean.

With her new diagnosis, oncologists in Idaho predicted she could live another 6 months to a year and possibly a bit longer with chemo treatments. My family decided to research alternative methods that sounded more promising and we found The Healing Sanctuary of Texas in Dallas.  My mom and I drove to Dallas and settled into our new condo on August 6th.  For the past 6 weeks, she has been doing a combination of IV and detox therapies headed by Dr. Pamela Smith.  Dr. Smith discovered Lymes disease and harmful microbial levels in her body that make it more difficult to subdue the cancer. She is in the clinic 3-5 days a week for treatment and she follows a strict diet and supplement schedule. The treatments tend to be very painful and tiring, but she is doing her best to maintain a positive attitude.

Today we had a reevaluation and the doctor sounded encouraged by progress so far.  However, Dr. Smith found high amounts of silicone poisoning in her system. This poisoning is a result of the silicone implants my mom had put in after her double mastectomy in 2014.  Dr. Smith recommended that the implants be removed immediately by an explant specialist in Dallas.  My mom will meet with the specialist next week and hopefully get the surgery scheduled soon. This was very unexpected and the thought of another surgery is upsetting to say the least. She will continue to undergo immediately after surgery.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.  We appreciate all of the support!

Love,

Eva
