Journal entry by Joan Thiesen —
Hi all,
As you know, on 3/16/2020, I received a phone call I never thought I would get; with a diagnosis I could have never imagined. I was told I have Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC). It was overwhelming to say the least. It was later revealed that I am Stage 2a, HER-2 Positive, Estrogen and Progesterone Receptor negative. Hormone therapy would not apply for me so the plan was for 20 weeks of chemo followed by surgery. As of this writing, I have only had 2 sessions of chemo. CaringBridge was suggested to me as a way to keep in touch with family and friends so you could all be a part of this journey with me.
