Journal entry by JoAnn Tolbert

I began this Caring Bridge quite a few years ago but I have yet to make a journal entry.  Covid19 has not been good for me....mentally or physically.   My disease has progressively gotten worse since January.   I've been on 4 different treatments this year.  The 4th is IV chemotherapy.   Taxol, 3 weeks on, 1 week off.  I was hospitalized after my 1st chemotherapy because my Total Billi was 7.1 and I was jaundice.   I had a blood clot in my portal vein and two bile ducts clogged with cancer lesions.   They put me on blood thinners and my counts are getting better.  Bilirubin is almost normal and my liver enzymes are decreasing along with my tumor markers.  On October 31st, my beautiful sister died which was a devastating loss.   She was a" healthy" young woman.   I'm still trying to make sense of it.   My nephews are living with us now.  One in college and the other looking for a job closer to us.  So we went from a family of 4 to 6 almost overnight.   I'm glad they are with us though. So, now I really need this new IV treatment to work.
