Thursday March 29th - I spoke with Dad this morning and asked if he was sad, he said "yes a bit sad and overwhelmed".  I talked with him for quite some time to thank him for him being the solid foundation of our family since the beginning of time, and to please let us step into that role, just for a small fraction in time.  We all know Dad/G'pa is the most upbeat and happy person on earth, I took this as my queue to call Grandma and ask if we should call for a MH consult.  Dad agreed this was needed and even told Grandma later in the day he knew exactly what he would say to the Doctor.  I spoke with his nurse Carly (of course she was sweet and soft spoken) she said she would make the call.  Grandma/Mom, Sheila and Jess went to visit Dad/Gpa later in the evening and Dad was very out of sorts to say the least. The obsession with the yellow car has diminished but the desire for water was at an all time high.  Dad was clearly beyond agitated to point of being.... shall we say "unruly" 😁 He was trying to bribe his nurse, paying up to $25 for a small glass of h2o.... even tricking Sheila into fetching him a cool washcloth for his head only to put it into his mouth.  We know now this was the beginning of the event that would be the set back we all are now reeling from.  Dad suffered from a stroke and two seizures in the early morning of Friday March 30th, we are devastated.

Friday March 30th -  The day from hell that started at 4:45am with a call from Fairview Southdale Hospital placed to my Mom and Sheila stating  that my Dad had pulled out his NG tube at midnight, he was alert and fine at that time .  When the nurse returned to check on him at 3:00 am his eyes were averted to the right and he was unresponsive.  Dad was being sent back to the ICU and the family was summoned.
