Journal entry by Julie Boden —
Today is four weeks since Jim died. Overall, I think we’re all managing ok with good days and not-so-good days. The kids have been prepping Jim’s house for sale. They’ve returned back to their families and their jobs.
On Sunday I gave a $2,000 memorial in Jim’s name to our church, the Congregational Church of Excelsior. Thank you all so much for your generous contributions! Plus, some people gave money directly to the church electronically.
Jim’s pug is using part of Jim’s wheelchair ramp to get in and out of my house. Her back legs don’t work well, so this has been a huge help. Meanwhile, I’ve been busy toasting Jim often. I have wonderful friends who have been surrounding me and keeping me busy. I’ve put on 7 pounds since the funeral, and I know it’s from overzealous toasts. At some point I’ll get a better direction back in my life. 😊
I pray you’re all well. For all the bussies: Enjoy your last month of summer before school starts again. 🚌
