Jim’s Story

Site created on October 20, 2020

Jim was diagnosed with ALS in November 2018.  With great courage and resolve, he has continued in ministry until recently he found he could no longer teach Sunday School.  Every week  brought new challenges as his body slowly imprisoned him over the past 2 years. Throughout his life he has lived to serve Christ with priorities on a relationship with Jesus, relationships with family, serving through Young Life, serving Anona United  Methodist Church with an adult Sunday School Class, and serving young children in Ridgecrest Elementary  through the  Panther Pal Reading  Program.
Now he is in the final stages of ALS and 2 Timothy 4:6-7 best describes his heart since getting pneumonia a week ago. " For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Journal entry by Amy Dyson

Below is a link to the video of the full service.  The live stream had some technical difficulties and cut off the last 15 min.  Thank you to everyone that made this day so special!  It was a wonderful tribute to my dad. God bless.
