Not sure how many Wellsville games I attended or how many times I visited the Dorsey crew but it was a lot! The one constant was Jim Dorsey. Basically the same age as Jim and always felt a weird kinship. What a parent and what a competitor! Family always first and thinking if Baker had a game in Iceland he’d be there and he’d be ready to go! Sometimes he’d corner me and have a quick joke or story. His kids were his focal point and he was super proud of his family. His presence will be felt for a LONG time. One of a kind!

I remember Jim from all of the games I played with Brent at Baker University. Living so close to Baker the Dorsey’s went to almost all the games and it was great seeing them every week. So many of us had parents that couldn’t attend many games and the Dorsey’s were always there cheering us on. Jim would always say hello and wish me good luck. My favorite memories of him were hearing him cheer for Brent. He was so proud of his son as he should have been. He would get so excited that he would have to pace up and down the court or behind the goals. He was that into the game. It was like he was playing through Brent. What an amazing live he had for the sport and for his sons. So supportive and caring and such a wonderful dad. Jim is going to be running up and down sidelines in heaven watching Jimmy and the rest of the grand kids play basketball for so many more years! God bless the family in this time. Just think about so many of the incredible times you had with such a loving and caring man. He was an example for so many of us as a father.
