Bringing the girls to swim at Grandpa Jim’s and chatting with him was a great pleasure in all our lives. Working with him on the playground at the GAP Lower Campus was one of the best times I’ve had. Ever. The world without him has lost some color and Adelaide is very sad. Jim’s death puts me in mind of a short Merwin poem:
“Separation”
Your absence has gone through me
Like thread through a needle.
Everything I do is stitched with its color.
I just don’t have the words to say how truly heartbroken I am at the passing of this great friend, confidant and stellar human being. Life won’t be the same without Jim. My heart goes out to his children and grandchildren whose lives were so enriched (and his as well) because of his profound love for them. I am so grateful for the time Jim and I spent together over the last couple of months. 💔😔
That was very well written Annie. I'm sad to hear of Jim's passing but very happy he's no longer in pain. It we as a blessing to know him. My condolences. RIP Amigo
A beautiful tribute for a beautiful person. Annie and family, thinking of you and so sorry for your loss. Your dad and grandpa was so kind and giving and so so funny! Sending you all so much love. Rest In Peace Jim. Chris, Carey, Etta and Nora.
