Journal entry by Suzanne Harris —
Tomorrow is the reconstruction. Interesting term isn't it; something that happens after a war? And it has been a battle the entire year. Jill will bring in the new year at KU surgery center on Nall. It's very close to the house, so we're grateful for that. I will be able to be there with her again.
The surgery involves bringing tissue from the Latissimus to the front chest wall. She will be in surgery for 5 or 6 hours. We have to be at the hospital really early for her prep work; 5:30 or 6:00am. They will keep her overnight and I'll enjoy the hard vinyl chair beside her. Jill will open her eyes and start demanding to go home. I have absolutely no doubt that she will roll through this surgery and be home New Year's day. Everyone is asking for our address: It is 9523 W 121st Terrace, Overland Park Ks. 66213.
We can't thank all of you enough for everything you've done for us over this past year. We are both saying "Good Riddence" to 2020. Keep the faith everybody.
A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Jill's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
